Oxford was easy to get to, either by taking the 45-minute walk along the river tow path or catching the no. 3/3A bus straight into the centre. We spent four nights here and felt welcome the whole time. Liz looked after us and our room, and the breakfast staff, especially Wendy, were lovely. The manager and reception were helpful too. Breakfast had good choices and everything we needed. Oxford is a beautiful city and well worth visiting. Many thanks, we’ll be back 😊

Wendy at breakfast made International Women’s Day extra special by giving me flowers, such a thoughtful gesture. My husband and I really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean, the service felt personal and caring, and all the meals we had were tasty. We’ll definitely come back!

The walk along the Thames into the city was a great part of the location. We had to switch rooms because the first one was beside the noisy kitchen fan, even though I’d requested a quiet room. After we moved, everything was fine. Hotels should pay attention when guests make requests.

We first stayed here on a business trip, then came back for our wedding anniversary. The hotel is lovely, with a peaceful spot just outside Oxford. The rooms are clean and very nice, and I really liked the decor and little details. The staff made us feel special and went above and beyond. We’ll definitely be back.

The room was really spacious and had everything we needed, and we all had a great stay. The staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. Olas, Sylwias and Elizabeth’s housekeeping was amazing, they went above and beyond to leave our room spotless and ready for the night. Anuj was also really helpful the whole time, answering our questions and being very professional. And for breakfast, I’d recommend Michalina as your waitress. She’s a ball of sunshine on a gloomy morning. This was genuinely the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Thanks to everyone at The Mercure for making it unforgettable. We’ll definitely return.
