Avoncourt Lodge

We spent five nights here and would gladly recommend it. It’s peaceful and a little outside the main town, though the walk in is easy enough. Coming back is a bit uphill, but manageable, and there’s plenty of parking. Our room and bathroom were fresh and very clean, and the room service was excellent. The welcome was lovely, and breakfast and service matched what you’d expect at a big-name four-star hotel. Thank you, Alison, Heather and Stacey.

Alison was really helpful with tips on places to eat and interesting things to see around town. We were here for one night before cycling the Devon Coast to Coast, and the comfortable stay and delicious breakfast set us up for the hills out of Ilfracombe. Our bikes were kept safely inside the drying room. A great stay.

The rooms were neat and tidy, and Alison was very accommodating. We were very happy with our stay, especially the delicious breakfast.

The rooms were really clean, with plenty of tea and coffee, and there’s a handy honesty bar on site. Breakfast was generous, and Heather made sure our dog got his cooled sausage every morning. Everyone was welcoming, especially Alison, who showed us on a local map where the hotel was in relation to walks, pubs and restaurants. It’s about a 5-10 minute walk to the town centre, with parking right outside the hotel. We’d recommend it. Thanks to all of you for looking after us so well.
