For the price we paid, I thought this was better than expected. It’s a budget hotel in an old building, and it looks dated and tatty in places. The room was clean, breakfast was excellent, and the staff were excellent throughout our two-night stay. There’s a bus stop right outside for a trip to Barnstaple, which is lovely, and it’s a short walk to the harbour.

We paid £60 a night for a budget weekend away, so you get what you pay for. The hotel’s a bit tired and could use some TLC. New carpets in reception alone would make a big difference to the first impression. The owners were lovely and clearly take pride in running it, especially during these tricky times. The bedroom was very basic, but clean. Hope you guys have a good season. Jeff

We were walking the SWCP and wanted a budget stopover. The staff were very friendly, and we’d read the reviews, so we knew parts of the hotel might be tired. Our room was clean, with decent towels and a kettle with tea and coffee. We had no trouble with the hot water that some reviews mentioned. The carpet and some of the decor could do with an update, but it worked fine for our needs. We could park our camper van in the hotel car park for £6 per night.

We spent New Year at the dilkusha. The food was very good every night, and all the staff were friendly and welcoming. Assistant manager Charlie was especially attentive, and the restaurant team, Angie, Charlotte, rheanna and maddilynne, were wonderful. There was a small heating problem in the restaurant, but otherwise everything was brilliant. Thanks again.
