We stayed in Room 5. It’s on the small side, but clean and nicely decorated, and having both a bath and a very good shower was nice. Bathrobes and slippers weren’t something I expected at the price, so I appreciated them. The property itself is nicely decorated too, and the staff were friendly and quick to respond. We also went to a birthday lunch in the private dining area at the back, and the catering was good. There’s plenty of free parking, and it made an excellent base for exploring the beautiful area.

We celebrated my mum's birthday with a meal and had a lovely time. The food was great, and Lucy provided excellent service. I’d definitely recommend it, especially to local people.

The room was spotless, comfortable and finished to a high standard, and we really enjoyed the food. Ann deserves a special mention: she was attentive, lovely to deal with and always ready to help. Her genuine enjoyment of the job came through and made the visit even better. Everyone on staff was friendly and welcoming from the moment I arrived, which made me feel at ease straight away. We had a fantastic stay at The Wheatley Arms and would definitely come back.

The food was a real highlight, lovely quality and flavour, and something I’d happily return for. My room was immaculately clean and comfortable, with clear signs of the care put into keeping it to a high standard. Ann was especially kind and attentive, and her warm manner made the stay more enjoyable. From arrival onward, the staff were friendly and helpful, making me feel welcome throughout. I had a wonderful time at the Wheatley Arms and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a welcoming stay and excellent service.

We enjoyed the walk along the nearby river, even though it’s a little way from the main town. The place was lovely, clean and comfortable, the food was good, and Ann was a very attentive server.
