After tea, we wandered around the hotel’s beautiful grounds, where the autumn colours across the privately owned estate were incredible. The tea itself was lovely too: although we booked late, we still had sandwiches, homemade scones with butter, cream and jam, then a few tasty sweets. It was so quiet I think I could hear the tea brewing! A great spot if you’re in the area.

We only meant to stop for a quick coffee on the way to the Isle of Skye, but our spur-of-the-moment visit to Glengarry Castle Hotel became one of our trip’s most memorable stops. The castle and peaceful grounds were lovely, with breathtaking views all around, and wandering there felt like stepping back in time. We also really enjoyed the coffee, scones and gingerbread. The welcome had that genuine friendliness and classic Scottish charm too.

We loved our stay. Dinner was delicious, and breakfast was wonderful too. Before dinner, we had a cocktail in the lounge, and we also enjoyed exploring the grounds by the loch and castle ruins. Even the drive through the magical forest was a treat. The rooms were clean and had a character of their own, and the staff were friendly. Such a gem of a place, highly recommend!

We ate at the hotel both nights, and the food was delicious. Having a different menu each evening was a nice touch. Breakfast came served as a meal rather than the usual hotel buffet, which we appreciated. The service was wonderful throughout our two-night stay, and the grounds were lovely for a morning or evening stroll, especially the walk to Invergarry Castle ruins. It’s also a handy central base for visiting lots of different places.

We came for dinner only and didn’t stay overnight. The three-course meal was delicious and used local ingredients, and the restaurant rooms were beautiful. Service was outstanding. Afterwards, dinner includes tea in either the fireplace room or library. Absolutely recommended.
