The bathroom was especially well appointed, and the room was just right. There are interesting artifacts throughout the hotel, so wandering around feels a bit like visiting a museum. We hadn't planned this short stay, but it turned out to be very pleasant. The menu is limited, which worked out well: my soup and duck main were both beautifully cooked and presented.

Someone found my sentimental ring and got it back to Craig after I lost it a few hours later. Craig then carefully wrapped it and sent it to my address in the USA. That kindness says a lot about Ledgowan. I'd stopped there for a bite and a pint on the way to sightseeing in the Scottish Highlands, and everything we ate was delicious. Craig was so hospitable, and the place felt warm and welcoming, with a peaceful, positive energy that made me feel inspired and at ease straight away.

We came in for coffee and ended up staying for lunch. The welcome was lovely and service was quick. It felt cosy and relaxed inside, and we were warm and comfortable despite the wild weather outside.

The two motorhome pitches we hired from the hotel have electric, and there's a bunkhouse with cooking facilities and showers. It's a great little setup for one night or longer, and handy for the NC500. We can't comment on the rooms or service since we stayed in our motorhome.

There are no shops nearby, so bring your own food. The bunkhouse has a kitchen, somewhere to eat, and tea-making supplies. It's warm and basic, but there's no bedding, so pack a sleeping bag. I stayed there while touring the NC500 by motorbike. The adjacent hotel has a bar and dining, though it's pricey, and Midge bite cafe is just down the road, but serves no food after 2pm.
