Highland Bear Lodge & Luxury Bear Huts

It was peaceful while still being close to everything, and the B&B was every bit as lovely as the photos suggested. We had a wonderful stay and felt well looked after, with thoughtful personal touches throughout. Rach was warm, welcoming and helpful in all our communication, and the service was excellent. The place was beautiful and comfortable. We’d be very happy to return, and highly recommend it.

The view was incredible, and the room was quiet, comfortable and decorated in a style I personally loved. My husband enjoyed sitting by the fire and chatting with other guests. We arrived late, but self check-in made that easy, and they promptly replied to my email when I was worried about the late arrival. The lodge is a little off the beaten path, as we expected, but still not too far from the tourist stops. The included continental breakfast was a nice touch. My only complaint was that I found the shower temperature difficult to adjust, though it may have been operator error. I’d recommend it if you’re after somewhere quiet and peaceful.

The downstairs bedroom was fantastic, but noise from the guests above us was unfortunately very loud. Their bathroom must have been right over our bed, because we clearly heard every toilet visit and flush, footsteps, and muffled conversation. It woke us quite a bit earlier than we planned. I’d definitely choose an upstairs bedroom. We didn’t enjoy breakfast and ended up getting something in town instead, though the drinks selection was exceptional. The place itself was absolutely amazing, and I wish we’d stayed longer than one night. The long gravel drive was the one other drawback. It was a little scary to drive up, and the middle stretch was full of potholes and really needs repairing.

It was a pleasure staying here. The place was wonderful, very clean, and our room had beautiful decor. We were very disappointed by the breakfast, though. It didn’t match the pictures shown at all, which was such a pity.
