Travelodge Ipswich Stowmarket

For an overnight work stay it was suitable enough, and it was the cheapest option I could find. The building and area feel very dated, though it was clean. There aren’t enough plugs, none beside the bed, and no USB ports. The front desk service was very professional and polite. I was told I’d need to add my registration again because it only covers 3 days. It’s a bit out of the way, with the a14 about 200yds to one side and a bus/coach repair garage opposite. I’m here for work, so I’m not too fussed.

We had a lovely five day stop, and the staff were great. The rooms are a good size and comfortable, especially when travelling with a pet. It’s quiet enough for daytime sleep, so it would suit night workers and rail workers. The location is peaceful but close to major roots. We’ll definitely use this Travel lodge again if we’re back in the area.

I usually stay on the first floor and have had pleasant, quiet visits, but this time we were downstairs and could hear the people above walking around. They weren’t being especially noisy, but every time they moved I woke up. On the second night, we asked to move upstairs, and the kind ladies at reception sorted it out. I slept brilliantly that night.

The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the rooms and bathrooms are clean and a decent size. It’s a quiet, peaceful Travelodge tucked away from things. There’s no aircon in the rooms, though a fan is provided in hot weather. Dogs are welcome, with pet friendly rooms available.
