Ramnee Hotel

We popped in for an unplanned meal at the bar and left very satisfied. The beer-battered haddock and grilled pork loin were well cooked, and the portions were generous, nicely presented, and served hot. We finished with sticky toffee pudding and vanilla ice cream. All the staff were friendly.

We had a lovely couple of nights and would definitely return. The building is beautiful, with lots of original features, and although it was cold outdoors, the bedrooms and public areas were warm and cosy. Our room was very clean, the food was delicious, and the Scottish breakfast was excellent. Thank you.

The food was good, but the staff couldn't get even basic orders right. No one seemed to know what they were doing, and their poor service and inability to take and act on simple orders spoilt our meal today. We won't go back. I'd advise anyone to choose somewhere other than the Ramnee hotel.

We've been back to the Ramnee several times and really love it. It feels cosy and homely, and the staff are always friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The other guests are friendly too. The full Scottish breakfast is delicious, while the restaurant meals are fairly simple but very tasty. I've seen comments about the dated decor, but this is an old historic property with loads of character. Modern rooms wouldn't suit it, and the decor doesn't take away from the experience. Our rooms have always been spotless and had everything we needed.
