Hintlesham Hall

The building’s uneven corridors give it a lovely sense of history, and our beautiful room was right at the top. We spent a relaxing weekend at Hintlesham Hall Hotel during the Suffolk Christmas Fair in the grounds. The receptionist was welcoming and professional, escorted us to our room and offered to have our luggage brought up. At dinner, one vegetarian option had run out, so the chef offered to make my wife a mushroom risotto that wasn’t on the menu. That kind of helpfulness came from the whole team all weekend, nothing seemed too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent and unlimited. We spent the day at the hotel and wandered back now and then from the fair to the residents-only bar for coffee and Bailey's hot chocolate. I highly recommend a visit.

A group of us who’ve been friends for over 30 years went away to celebrate two birthdays, and our stay at The Hall was a great choice. The wonderful staff made it extra special, with excellent food and service. I had the lovely, large “Josephine” room, with doors opening onto a patio. Shame the weather didn’t cooperate. I’d highly recommend it for a short break.

It was a pleasure to see happy dogs in the corridors, and the EV charging points were a welcome bonus. The room was really comfortable, the service was great, and the place has plenty of character and charm. A great place to stay.

We stayed in a family room with ample space for four. The hotel has charm and character, and it’s in a picturesque spot. We were there for a wedding and didn’t get to try the spa. The food looked and tasted good, though it was overseasoned with salt. A lot of the staff seemed quite junior and did their best, but the service sometimes wasn’t as efficient or professional as expected. Some areas could use a bit of maintenance, though that’s part of the hotel’s character.
