I stayed in a single room that was very clean and tidy, and had everything basic that I needed. The staff were pleasant, and both the breakfast choices and the hotel restaurant were good. It's a handy base for exploring the Isle of Skye, with an Asda, CO OP and a cute little market right beside it, plus restaurants about a 10-minute walk away. Great value, too. The only downside was the rather thin walls: you can hear creaks and groans, though that might just be a Scotland building thing. I'd stay again.

Our room, 222, had a window that wasn't sealed properly, so quite a bit of air came in and it was cold if you sat near it. We were only there for one night and didn't want to bother anyone, so we stuffed a towel into the gap and were warm enough. Just something to know for next time. Otherwise, a really nice stay: friendly staff, a cosy hotel, beautiful views, and a choice of parking spots that made things easier.

The large Co Op next door is handy, and the staff were nice. But the rooms are clean and very small, with only the most basic setup. The place felt like a 1970s youth hostel or an old folks' home, and lacked any atmosphere. Breakfast was plentiful, though very greasy. There are better places to stay for the price.

For £17, I expected food that was at least decent, but the chicken tikka was repulsive and made me feel sick. The haggis was mediocre at best, and breakfast wasn't worth having either, with cheap sausages. I'd skip the food altogether. The hotel itself was okay, but nowhere near worth the price. The room was small and basic, though the bathroom was nice. I also felt uneasy about the main door, which didn't seem safe.

We had our dogs with us, and there was a small charge, as expected. The room was lovely and spacious, with a great view across the sea. Inside the hotel was clean and welcoming, and the staff were really friendly. We ate there too. The food was decent, about what you'd expect for a hotel in the middle of nowhere. I'd stay again if I was up that way.
