Burnside B B

The breakfast at Burnside B&B was fresh, generous and beautifully cooked, and set me up well for a day out in the Lakes. Our room was spotless and comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made it feel homely. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. The hospitality was warm and attentive without being intrusive, and the location is peaceful while still just a short walk from Keswick town centre and the lovely scenery nearby. Burnside B&B is a gem, with great food and lovely people. My partner and I would happily stay again and recommend it to anyone visiting Keswick.

We really wished we could have stayed longer. Sharon is such a friendly host, and we enjoyed having a chat with her. Breakfast was a highlight. Along with cereal, toast, tea and juice, Sharon makes a lovely hot breakfast. The full English was delicious, and her homemade waffles and pancakes were divine. Our room was warm, cosy and perfectly clean. The radiator beside the coat rack was ideal for drying off after being out in the rain and cold. There’s also a kettle, biscuits, hot chocolates and tea, and a lovely bathroom. Keswick, the cycle trail and the mountains are all a short walk away. If you’re staying in Keswick, stay here!

After arriving stressed and tired, we left feeling full of the joys of the Lake District. We spent four nights here and would definitely return. Sharon is a lovely owner who made sure nothing was too much trouble, from suggesting places to eat and drink to recommending scenic walks and local sights. The breakfast had plenty of choice, including Sharon’s homemade jams and marmalade and vegetarian sausages. Our cosy, comfortable bedroom had handy extras for wet walking clothes, a chocolate mint each day, which is my favourite, and nice smelling bathroom toiletries. The B&B was clean, comfortable and so well run that I can’t think of anything to change. I’d recommend it to anyone.

The location was lovely, with a beautiful walk into the city centre, and the place was clean with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast had plenty of choice and was delicious, so be sure to try Sharon’s homemade jams. A lot of our enjoyment came from Sharon herself. She’s a lovely host who goes out of her way to help, including recommending places to eat and visit. Her love for the area where she was born really comes through. We highly recommend Sharon and Burnside B&B.
