Travelodge Hartlebury

Bev and Pauline went way beyond what I expected when I dropped my house keys in the key-drop after checking out on Saturday morning. They took the address of my next stop, a three-day stay in Birmingham, and managed to get the keys to me there within 72 hours, over Christmas. They made sure the keys caught up with me while I was away, which was absolutely brilliant. Thank you both so much. The room was lovely and worked well for a quick business trip. Check-in was late, but the welcome was friendly and caring. There are two cute cats at the hotel, and the foyer had Christmas decorations, activities, and books for kids.

Boris the cat is a lovely surprise, with his own little shelter outside. That, along with the lights around reception and the small garden with toys and gnomes, makes this Travelodge feel much less bland than the others I've stayed at around GB. Every member of reception staff I spoke to was polite, pleasant, and helpful. If you're eating, I'd really recommend Aromas 8848 across the car park.

Never coming back. The room wasn't clean, with the beds made badly and tiny hairs all over the bathroom. There was a horrible smell in the hallway, and a huge spider with babies in the ceiling corner. An automatic speaker under the window kept talking constantly, so sleeping was impossible. We saw cleaners using a window washer to clean rooms. There was no sign of hygiene or concern for germs or people's health. I should've listened to my friend.

We made a last-minute booking and checked in late with the children, only to be met by a strong, foul smell in the hallway. The room was filthy. The kettle was dirty, the bathroom door wouldn't shut, and the carpet hadn't been properly vacuumed around the edges. There were yellow marks on the filthy skirting boards, and the towels were damp. I've never seen a duster used. See the attached images. I won't be back.
