Bell At Hampton

As a woman travelling alone for work, I wanted somewhere quiet, comfortable, and safe-feeling near Oxford that wasn't priced like Oxford. The Bell Inn was convenient to the M40 and A34 but far enough away that road noise wasn't an issue. My room was simply and tastefully furnished, with a spacious bathroom and an enormous shower. The bed was comfortable, if hilariously low to the floor. Everyone on staff was welcoming, helpful, friendly, and positive. They even sorted out a cheese platter for me to have in my room while working. The bar food was delicious and beautifully presented, though it may seem pricey. The treacle tart with coconut ice cream is a treat. I hope work gives me more chances to stay at The Bell Inn.

We booked every room at the bell so our wedding party could all stay together for two nights, and I can't recommend it enough. Elliot was especially kind, attentive, and helpful when the team arranged dinner for 19 of us the night before the wedding. Breakfast both mornings was lovely too, and the woman serving it made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms, food, and staff were all 10/10. From booking the room with Elliot to being looked after all weekend, everything was spot on. He was the best host I've experienced, welcoming and helpful, just a brilliant guy. The room and food were great too. A proper gem, and I'd highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.

My husband and I found a table without booking and really enjoyed our meal. It's a lovely place, and our waiter Harry gave us excellent service.
