Airlie Arms Hotel

It was a great base for local hikes, although getting around without a car can be tricky. I stayed with friends and we all had a good time. The staff were attentive and considerate, and the whisky selection was great. The bar gets lively in the evenings, and the pub food was outstanding, so book ahead. My single room was small but clean, with a lovely view. I did miss having a wardrobe. Breakfast had a satisfying range, including British and international choices as well as porridge. There’s no private parking, but that wasn’t a problem for us.

The staff were helpful and there were plenty of them. The specials were better than the menu’s rather standard fare. It’s a shame the interior doesn’t pay more attention to the building’s Grade 2 listing. My room was clean and basic, but noise carried through the stud walls. The shower could suddenly go from hot to cold, and there was nowhere in the bathroom to put a soap bag.

After a full day Munro bagging, the generous portions were just what we needed, and the prices were great. The menu had loads of options, including plenty for vegetarians. Service was welcoming from the moment we arrived, and they were lovely with our big dog. We came across the airlie arms while camping and liked it so much we returned the very next night. We’ll definitely visit again.

The children’s menu was brilliant, and it was nice to see steak pie as a less usual option. There was plenty of choice and generous portions. My Ribeye Steak was cooked to perfectionz, with lots of mushrooms on the plate too. We were there with my husband, our three kids and dog. We sat outside, though dogs are welcome inside as well. The place was clean, the atmosphere lovely, the decor nice, and the toilet extremely clean. Such a lovely wee place for our visit. Thankyou. 🙌
