We watched an incredible sunset from the hotel, and there's another lovely view from the village viewpoint a short walk away. It's a tiny, very quiet village, with the hotel right on the NC500 and safe off-road parking. The owners are great, and we spent time chatting with them in the bar. Good food and good rooms, too.

The evening salmon was a letdown, very overcooked and dry, though breakfast was quite good. Staff were pleasant and even did a service wash for us for a reasonable fee, which we really appreciated. The room was basic but adequate, although it felt ready for a refurb, especially the tired-looking bathroom. A fairly average hotel.

The owners were friendly, breakfast was excellent, and the hotel is well placed. I believe it's for sale. Good accommodation is hard to find around here, especially in season, so it could be a great small hotel for a couple or someone wanting to run a place away from it all.

Getting here means quite a drive, but it's worth it for this beautiful place. We both loved the hotel and the lovely people there. The little bar has a pool table, and the food was great. Breakfast was among the best I've had, with Stornoway black pudding. Five stars, highly recommended.

For a very reasonable price, the food was delicious and high quality. The couple running the hotel did a wonderful job looking after us, and we had a great one-night stay.
