Holiday Inn Express Leeds City Centre Armouries

Our first trip to Leeds to see family felt easy and welcoming thanks to everyone working here from Sunday the 15th to Tuesday the 17th. The whole team was kind and attentive to the little details. One small gesture especially helped: the colouring sheet, pencils and sticker kept our youngest relative happily busy, and we really appreciated the thought. Thanks for such warm hospitality. We look forward to coming back.

On our first night, a receptionist told us we could briefly use the private land to check in, unload, or grab a quick breakfast. But when we came back for breakfast the next morning, which we'd paid extra for ourselves and our guest, the hotel went back on that and sent us out into the rain to look for parking. It took about 20 minutes to find somewhere. There is no parking beside the hotel, only nearby private land that guests apparently can't use, so expect to get wet if it rains. Communication around this was inconsistent, and the reception manager seemed unprofessional to me and appeared to have favourite guests.

The staff were welcoming and attentive, and tried to make up for the problems I ran into. Breakfast was included and more than adequate. The room itself was comfortable and well equipped, though the limited floor space made it feel cramped. The TV offered screencasting, but mine had no internet connection. Despite all its settings, the heating system would only warm the room to 22 degrees or above. For a visit to the Royal Armouries, the location is hard to beat. On a cold day it's barely a minute away, so you can leave your jacket in your room. Other attractions mean walking another 15 minutes into the city centre.

We stayed for two nights over a November weekend with family. The location was peaceful but still made it easy to get around, and the staff were fabulous, always serving with a smile. Only little gripe was the WiFi, it wasn't great, and we had teenagers with us!
