The rooms were clean, and the hotel was well placed for getting around. We were in Leeds for a match and arrived much earlier than expected; reception let us leave our bags, locked them away, and gave us a ticket to pick them up later. Cheap and cheerful.

The pizza was amazing, definitely worth ordering. The staff were lovely too, always smiling and doing their best to help us, even when the hotel let them down. We had two rooms, and the heating worked in one but not at all in the other. It was a hassle dealing with the maintenance issue, but they tried everything they could, including giving us another room next to ours. Big credit to the employees for their service, they deserve six stars. Thanks, guys.

The view was really nice, and if you just need a room, it’s good value and very close to the city centre. The breakfast was disappointing: just cereal, fruit, pastries and drinks, with no hot food. I’d asked before paying to remove breakfast from my booking, but was told that couldn’t be done, so I went down anyway. The man at the counter didn’t say anything as I walked by, then told me breakfast wasn’t included while I was getting food. I later saw that it was included after all. The skirting boards could use a coat of paint, too. My key card stopped working 20 minutes before checkout, so I had to get it reactivated to collect my luggage.

The room was cheap, so I wasn’t expecting much, but it was clean and the bedding was clean too. There was plenty of space for basic needs. Reception were friendly and helpful, and check-in was quick and easy. The city centre view made my son really happy. We were staying overnight before catching a coach from Leeds Bus Station the next morning for his birthday trip, and it was a great start to our journey.

The seventh-floor view was lovely, and they checked that I was comfortable with heights. For a short stay, this no-frills place had everything we needed: modern, clean rooms and a friendly welcome. There were free toiletries, but no kettle. Snacks from vending machines and a continental breakfast were available downstairs. I pre-booked at NCP, the nearest parking, about a 5-10 minute walk away, for £15 a day. Handy city centre location in Leeds, and the rates are great if you book ahead.
