The only thing I liked about The Quebeqs Hotel was its location near Leeds railway station. The décor seemed dated, but the cold was the real problem. My room was absolutely freezing, and the heating controls were confusing and didn't work properly. Staff came twice to adjust them without fixing it. I eventually got a portable heater the next morning, after my sleep had already been badly disrupted. A warm, comfortable room is a basic expectation, and this hotel didn't meet it. There are much better choices in Leeds for the price. Five days later, I'm still suffering from the cold I caught there. I wouldn't stay again.

The hotel is stunning, and every time we visit we're surprised by the welcome and customer service. It feels luxurious whenever we come. Joy is usually there to greet us, and she's the loveliest colleague, always making our stay feel special. Caroline, the manager, is very sweet too and does her best to make us feel like VIPs. This is our favourite place, and we'll be back!

The breakfast was excellent, with great food and drink, and the service was just as good. It was served in a room on our floor, with a good view from the window. That added to the experience for my wife and me. We stayed for a show at the O2 Academy, which was within walking distance. The hotel is well placed near everything we needed, and staff recommended places to eat. The two desk staff we spoke with at check-in asked what had brought us there and seemed genuinely interested. When we were heading out, another staff member insisted on taking a few pictures of us so we'd have a couple of good ones. Everyone was friendly and helpful, the customer service was very good, and we'd definitely come again.

There were just seven hotel parking spaces, allocated first come, first served, but there are several multi-storey car parks within a five-minute walk. We were able to pull up outside to drop our bags before finding another space. Our room had no USB ports, though other rooms may have them. It came with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, soap, a hairdryer, iron and ironing board, and a safe. The room was amazing, with loads of space, a powerful hot shower, and really comfortable beds and pillows. The hotel sits in the centre without being on a main walking route, so we got the convenience without people walking past and making noise. Reception staff were all friendly and helpful. The bar looked like a nice place for a quiet drink in Leeds centre, though we didn't use it.
