The location made getting to Leicester station, shops and restaurants easy on foot, and the staff were friendly, professional and approachable. Our room was clean, comfortable and beautifully presented, with a cosy bed and a modern en-suite with a strong shower. We appreciated the tea and coffee facilities, complimentary toiletries, reliable fast Wi-Fi and large flat-screen TV. The recent refurbishment seems to have done the historic building good: its grand staircase and original features give it a character you don't find in modern budget hotels, while the new finishes feel fresh and well cared for. Breakfast got a little busy at peak times, but that was a small issue in an otherwise lovely stay. There are cheaper hotels nearby, but we felt paying a bit more was worth it for the comfort, character and quality. We'd happily return and recommend The Grand Hotel Leicester by The Unlimited Collection.

Since February 2026, the hotel has had a major refurbishment and a new team, and they deserve five stars. The rooms look beautiful, the beds are wonderfully comfortable, and the staff were helpful, welcoming and friendly. From now on, I'll stay here whenever I visit Leicester. Easily the best hotel in the city.

We held my son's wedding in the Kings Hall, an amazing venue with lovely features. The hotel staff were excellent, polite and attentive. Paul, the wedding planner, and Kuran, our liaison, were fantastic from start to finish. On the day, Kuran was my go-to person, and his attention to detail helped everything go perfectly. He even found us a prayer room and cloth to pray on, so all the guests were well looked after. We heard so many positive comments from guests about both the wedding and the hotel, including the personal touch everyone received.

We weren't told about the extensive work going on, and the elevator was out of service. Although our room had been newly refurbished, the duvet had long black hair on it. The shower door is fitted so it blocks the controls, making them awkward to reach, cold air came through the windows, and the HVAC controls didn't work. We also weren't told the checkout time, then got calls and knocks when we were still there after 11:30. The hotel isn't yet ready to compete for discerning travellers.

Recently renovated and a bit grand, with attentive staff. Ask Kuran for information. It would certainly make a lovely wedding venue. Thanks to everyone.
