Eddlewood Guest House

We were made to feel very welcome by Steve and Karen, and Archie the dog. We both slept well in the comfortable room, and breakfast was very nice, with well-cooked quality ingredients, a good range of cereals and fresh blueberries. They also kindly kept our suitcases for us until it was time to get our ship to Scotland. Thank you!

Peter made the stay especially enjoyable. He was warm, helpful and accommodating, and a lovely ambassador for Lerwick. The room was clean, breakfast was great, and the location was convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was cosy and clean, and breakfast was lovely. This was the best place I've stayed on Shetland, just fantastic. 10 out of 10. I'd highly recommend it and will come back!

The free Wi-Fi was fast, and the people who greeted me, a man, a woman and a dog, were pleasant and helpful throughout my stay. The room itself was a mixed bag. The bed was comfortable, though the middle of the double bed sat higher than the sides, so I kept rolling towards the edge. The room looked dated and a bit tacky, with old wallpaper and a large crack across the ceiling and wall, almost as if it had once been split in two. I also found a broken lamp. Cleanliness wasn't great either. There was dust and dirt around the top and bottom of the bath and on the toilet seat. Since I'd booked during covid, I expected the room to be immaculate. There didn't seem to be disabled access, though they might have had a single room on the ground floor. There was no parking at the property, so I had to leave my car in the residential area, and I can imagine annoying local homeowners at some point during the week. Breakfast needed clearer instructions from me. I asked for a sausage sandwich and got one sausage between two slices of bread, with hardly any filling.
