White Lodge B&B

The location was ideal for Brighton, with woodland walks and lovely views around the house. It's peaceful and relaxing, and we could also use the guests' lounge to unwind and watch TV. Ann and Martin were excellent hosts and made us feel at home. The large bedroom had everything we could need, and breakfast was lovely, with a very wide choice for all tastes. This is the best B&B we've stayed in.

Ann and Martin are friendly, accommodating hosts who know how to run a B&B, and they have loads of information about the area. The White Lodge deserves its reputation. Our large, quiet room was well appointed, comfortable, and looked out over their beautiful garden. The modern furnishings and house were high quality and immaculate. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of options. One small but telling example: Ann served a huge bowl of fresh strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries for fruit salad, rather than the few bits of fruit you often get elsewhere. The house is out in the countryside, so you'll need a car or taxi, though it's not that far from Lewes or Glyndebourne.

Breakfast was so good it made you want to get out of bed, even though the bed was wonderfully comfortable. There was an amazing choice and the quality was lovely. The house is stylish but welcoming, with gorgeous views of pheasants in the garden and all the birdlife in the woods behind. Our room was gorgeous and so well appointed, with every need considered in meticulous detail. From the delightful booking communications to the warm welcome on arrival, we had the loveliest stay. White Lodged B+B is the best B+B we've ever stayed in, and we've been to quite a few. We can't recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning. Thank you!

We stayed in the Woodland room, which was perfect, with a view of the glorious trees and wild deer coming up towards the house. Ann and Martin welcomed us kindly into their superb home. Everything was spotless and high quality, and this was our second stay at White Lodge, one of the very best B&Bs my wife and I have experienced over the years. The polenta, ginger, and brownie cakes were delicious, as were the high-quality breakfasts Martin cooked expertly.
