Premier Inn Lincoln - Canwick

The Nescafé machine and pods were a nice extra, and the coffee was surprisingly decent. Parking worked well for the location, too. I’ve stayed at a few Premier Inns, and this one had the best room so far. The TV was a good size, and having an HDMI port at the desk was a first for me in the UK. It makes a quiet night in easy.

It’s rural and really quiet, yet still close to Lincoln. This was our third stay, and the staff have always been welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are good as well. There’s no lift, though that wasn’t an issue for us personally. The inn is just outside Canwick, and it’s one of the quietest Premier Inns we’ve stayed at.

The Beefeater seemed short staffed. It took 45 minutes before I asked what was happening, only to find out my order hadn’t been processed. After that, the staff pulled out the stops and got the food to me quickly. The hotel itself is an older Premier Inn that hasn’t been refurbished yet. There was no suitcase stand, the remote barely worked, and the bathroom light was out, which made shaving difficult. The lighting overall wasn’t great either, with no ceiling spotlights.

I was still glad to have a roof over my head, but I left wishing I could say something more positive. The place is nowhere near any minishops, the pen for signing in didn’t work, and the internet in reception was off. The switch took ages to respond, and so did the person I was waiting for. Even after the night shift person arrived and the antenna was fortunately fixed, the office door was left open when it shouldn’t have been. The first of March was already a bitter day for me, so I was in the mood to pick this place apart. I hope that when I’m back in 1-2-3-4-5-6 years, it’ll have gone from bottom to top. At least every cloud has a silver lining.
