We had rooms 4 and 5 for one night. Both were nicely decorated, with very comfortable beds and tea and coffee provided. The pub was lively on Saturday, though sadly they don’t serve food that day. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. The owner and staff were warm and helpful, and we’d definitely come back.

John was a really friendly, informative host, and the team were lovely too. The room was spotless, reasonably priced, and tucked away somewhere quiet and private. There was a fantastic menu as well. We stayed one night on 15/3/26 and would happily return again and again. Thanks, John and team.

A great pub tucked away off the main route, with welcoming staff and friendly locals. It’s a nice social place for a drink or a meal. Rooms are available seasonally, so check ahead. I’ll definitely come back.

We first came across the Red Lion by chance while picking up some electronics a customer had left behind. The staff were so lovely when we stopped in last week that we came back today for the Carvery. The food was stunning, everyone serving us was polite and courteous, and the prices felt like really good value. Our family has been looking for a nice place to eat together, and at last we’ve found one we love ❤️

We fancied a meal out on Saturday evening, when it was grill night. I ordered the butterfly chicken with chips, creamy garlic mushroom sauce, and salad. The food tasted nice, but the very small chicken sat on top of the chips, while the other half of the plate was mostly lettuce leaves and cherry tomatoes. I’ve had a bigger portion as a starter elsewhere. My husband had the gammon with chips, egg, pineapple, and peas. He found the meat tough and wasn’t impressed with the meal. At £16.95 each, plus one drink apiece, the bill came to £41.95. For similar prices, we know other places we’d rather visit. We came home still hungry. The staff and service, though, can’t be faulted.
