Delta Hotels by Marriott Liverpool City Centre

We got the superior king room for £77 a night, which felt like great value. It was huge, luxurious and really nice, with a super-comfy sofa. The bed was on the firm side, though. I also loved the Liverpool mural by Dave Draws near reception, it really suits the area. It’s in a perfect spot, and the staff were super friendly. The hotel and room are lovely, and I had no problems. I’d recommend it and would happily come back. At night, you might want to close the curtains because some adverts are very bright. There can also be street noise and announcements from the bus station, though that won’t affect every room and isn’t the hotel’s fault. Parking outside the hotel costs £25, or Q Park is £16. If you register online before entering St John’s car park, it’s £6.50 for the night, just across the road.

Our Superior King had the usual amenities and an extra pull-out bed. The beds were warm and comfortable, and I really liked the bath jets. The bathroom shower was a little older, though still nice. We didn’t try the bar or breakfast, but both looked good. There’s a gym as well. The hotel is close to Lime St, St Johns and the Cavern Qtr. You can enter from either side of the building, and there’s a nice reception area with pleasant staff. Q Park is right next door if you need it. I’d highly recommend staying here and would come back.

Breakfast cost far too much for what it was, so I went into the city and found better value. On-site parking was horrifically expensive too, so be prepared for a bit of a sting if you plan to park at the hotel. Aside from that, I was impressed by this Delta Marriott. The room was modern, clean and comfortable, and excellent for the price, much better value than I expected. The lobby had a lovely Christmas feel that made the place welcoming as soon as I arrived. It’s in a great location, and I’d happily stay again.

We slept really well in our lovely room, and the staff were so helpful. They gave us great tips on where to find a proper British pub and something good to eat. The location is hard to beat, under five minutes on foot from Lime Street Railway Station, with lots of bars, restaurants and iconic venues nearby. We’ll be back.
