Metropole Hotel

The afternoon tea was really filling, and the staff were so kind and accommodating. We were given robes, slippers, body cream and a locker for our things. The pool was spacious and not too deep, and using the steam room and sauna was very relaxing. I highly recommend the Spa with Afternoon tea for 2.

The staff made this stay feel special, especially duty manager Sam. He seemed to be everywhere, greeting us at the front desk and seating us in the restaurant that evening and again the next morning. He’s warm and friendly, and it’s clear the staff love him too. Everyone seemed well trained while still being approachable. We had a fabulous evening meal, and breakfast was excellent, with plenty to choose from. A lovely lady explained everything, and we could pick where to sit, which I appreciated. Our room was outstanding, comfortable and had everything we could need and more. At reception they went above and beyond when I asked for a bath. The hotel has beautiful old world charm and wonderful hospitality from the moment we arrived. We also spent a relaxing couple of hours at the spotless, well cared for pool. The young man there greeted us, gave us towels and explained everything. There’s lots to do nearby too. We went for beautiful walks and visited the three dams. I love this hotel and everything about it. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we booked to come back early next year. Thank you so much.

The hotel sits in a lovely spot in the heart of Wales, with mountains and countryside all around, and there’s a large car park behind it. Staff were great and the food was fantastic. The spa has excellent facilities, including a pool, with a well equipped gym too. Sauna, steam room and treatments cost extra. I’d definitely recommend staying here, and plan to return.

We had a great few days here, and the food for our group of about 40 was exceptional. The staff were friendly and as helpful as could be, and the rooms had comfortable beds and plenty of space. They don’t have the latest tech, though. It’s a lovely old hotel with lots of Edwardian grandeur, one of the few of its kind left in a spa town that was once full of similar classy places. I’d confidently recommend a stay.
