Cain Valley Hotel

The room was warmer and nicer than last year, and the evening meal was lovely. We come every year, and this visit was even better. It looks like there may have been some decorating. The chef did a great job, and the young woman with dark hair and piercings was so helpful. The anniversary card and chocolates left on the table were a kind touch. The main man at reception helped too, reserving a parking space when I needed to nip out. See you next year.

Breakfast was really good, and there was a good range of beers and bottles at the bar. We stayed Friday and Saturday, 5th and 6th September, for two nights. The rooms were very clean, the restaurant had plenty of food choices, and service was really good. Molly served us and was the most feminine goth you'll ever meet, with a good sense of banter. We were very happy with everything.

Whenever we're in Llanfyllin, we make a point of stopping at the Cain. It's a lovely traditional independent hotel in the Welsh countryside, with a relaxed atmosphere and a friendly welcome each time. Good for a pint or a meal.

We really enjoyed our stay this August 2025. The meals were absolutely delicious, and the bed was comfortable. Our room was very clean, too. The manager was lovely, and he and the staff make a great team running the hotel.
