We stayed the first week of December, and everything at the Holiday Inn Royal Mile was better than we expected. It was convenient having a grocery store directly across from the hotel, and Cowgate Coffee was a lovely place to pick up delicious coffee and baked goods while coming or going. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. Breakfast had lots of variety, and the coffee machine made great espresso and lattes. Thank you for making our trip to your beautiful city so enjoyable.

There’s a 24/7 bar, and the hotel serves a good breakfast. We had a nice, clean, quiet room. Nothing exceptional, just really nice. The hotel is right in Edinburgh Old Town’s tourist area, within walking distance of all the main attractions the Old Town has to offer.

Breakfast was okay, nothing special, and our room was gloomy. A few lamps would’ve helped, since it was too dark to read. The beds were comfortable, though. Staff were friendly, and the location is great for the Royal Mile and Old Town. It’s uphill, so it may not be ideal for children or anyone less able-bodied. I’d use the hotel again.

You can’t beat the spot near the High Street: Holyrood Palace is at one end, Edinburgh Castle at the other, with lots of tourist traps, shops, and restaurants between them. The hotel itself is very basic. It’s not bad, but not great either. For the price, though, it’s certainly worth it.

We were very happy with our two-night stay as a couple. The hotel is only a few minutes from the heart of the old town, with the castle about 15 minutes away, and we thought it was good value. Our room was spacious and well equipped, with a lovely view of the hills. The all-you-can-eat breakfast was excellent, and the staff were welcoming and attentive. We highly recommend it for its impeccable customer service.
