The Mount Inn

We ate well here, the food was tasty and there was plenty of it. It’s a traditional inn, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. The rooms are clean and simple, with a tiny en-suite, but the shower is great.

The disabled room I usually book is really spacious, clean and tidy, and the hot breakfast is decent. I’m here three times a year for shooting at Orion Firearms, and the landlord and landlady are always super friendly. There’s an EV charger on site, so I can charge my car. Staff and locals always make me feel welcome, and I’ve nothing to fault. The only small drawback is that there’s no food on Sunday evening, though a couple of other places to eat are available. I’ll keep booking for my three trips each year.

James and Claire were kind, compassionate and understanding when they provided our funeral tea. We had the place to ourselves, and I’d highly recommend them.

The staff were lovely and kind during our stay on a cycling trip with Cycle Active. I’d had an accident that day and had a broken wrist in a sling, and they brought me extra pillows without even being asked. Our room suited our needs well, with a comfortable bed, lovely linen, clean surroundings and plenty of hot water for showers. There was a bit of mould in the shower, but it didn’t bother us, and I can see how it might happen in an en-suite without an outside window. The food was fab pub grub with great vegetarian options. I’d stay again without hesitation.
