Our visit meant a lot because it was my birthday and my parents’ first trip to the UK. The team at DoubleTree by Hilton Greenwich made the occasion feel personal, and we all felt welcome from the start. Romy, Bianca, and Saketh at the front office were warm, professional, and always ready to help. Imran and Bianca looked after us well in food and beverage, too. Their attentiveness made the stay easy and enjoyable. The staff helped turn the birthday visit into a special memory. Thanks to everyone at DoubleTree by Hilton Greenwich. I’d gladly recommend it to people visiting London, and hope to come back.

The room was small but fairly comfortable, though the opaque bedroom-to-bathroom door was a strange choice. We were there for a couple of nights for my partner’s birthday. Breakfast was decent, but even with a discount it was £15 each, which didn’t feel worthwhile: there were few hot choices and they were overcooked. On our last evening we ate in the bar lounge. The menu looked good, if pricey, but the seating didn’t feel right for a sit-down dinner. My gnocchi came with an extremely bitter sauce and was almost inedible, so I sent it back. The complaint was met with indifference, and I waited about ten minutes before anyone asked what I wanted instead. I chose a veggie pizza, which was serviceable. Nobody apologized or checked on the replacement, and my partner was still charged for the gnocchi. Checkout was odd as well. We were told we’d be charged for room service we hadn’t ordered, then given a bill that didn’t include any room service. No one asked how the stay had been. It left me feeling that people weren’t very interested in doing their jobs properly.

If getting a good night’s sleep matters to you, I’d choose another hotel. I was given a ground-floor family room for three facing the park, where the birds started making a lot of noise from 4am. My family and I couldn’t sleep. I was told the hotel also has noisy rooms by the AC fan plant, and that the bird noise was external, so they couldn’t do anything and had no other room available. I was staying two nights in a family room and then nine nights in two single rooms. I paid £180 a night for the family room and offered to pay the difference for two rooms, around £218 total, but they refused. I even offered to downgrade to a single or queen room and pay the difference, also refused. Instead, Hilton wanted me to pay the full price for an extra room. The customer service was poor. I think they should install soundproof windows. With this kind of hotel under the Hilton name, I’d rather stay in an Airbnb.

We only planned three nights for New Year, but ended up adding two more after meeting the team. The room initially seemed a little small for my taste, though everything worked perfectly and the stay soon fell into place. Richardo at the front desk made a lovely first impression. He was welcoming and polite, kept checking on us, and even took me to breakfast when I arrived late so I could still eat. My son and I are usually quite reserved at hotels, but the food and beverage team made us feel at ease. The food was amazing, and I hope I didn’t finish all the Prosecco! Henri made a huge impression on my son, who hurried downstairs every day to see him and couldn’t stop talking about him. He can’t wait to meet him again. Eugene, thanks for the lovely room service. Dawood was kind and patient with my son, and Imran always helped me at breakfast, especially when I was running late. Marism and Francisca were amazing, and Bianca is one of the sweetest people I’ve met. I didn’t catch every name at reception and the bar, but everyone there helped make the place special. It’s the people who made this more than a beautiful hotel and gave us memories we’ll treasure. We’ll definitely return. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

Greenwich made a much better base for us as a family than busy, messy Central London. It’s peaceful and lovely, with the big park, local pubs, and cafes nearby, and the trains into the city are easy to reach. We loved the neighborhood. Our room was really spacious, with a huge bathroom and a decent-sized fridge for a few salads and evening snacks. My son especially loved the bathtub. Reception and housekeeping were attentive, and the service was very good. Our internet took a day to fix, but the reception team tried to sort it themselves while we waited for a technician. I needed wifi for work, so I really appreciated that effort. Breakfast was okay, though pretty average for an English breakfast. As a vegetarian, I only found eggs, mushrooms, fresh fruit, and yogurt. There were pancakes for my son, but I prefer healthier options, so that part could be improved.
