11 Cadogan Gardens by Iconic Luxury Hotels

I’d stay again, but I’d be careful about which room I booked. We were told our room was the right one for the second level of Queen room, though it had no chairs or table like the examples on the website and the bed seemed small. At first we had a brown and beige box of a room with no charm, though it did have a road view and a decent window. We asked, and were offered two alternatives. Both were larger and less brown, with much bigger beds, but they were internal rooms with almost no view. I took comparison photos. The room was perfectly comfortable in the end, with a good bed and nice touches, but it was dark in daylight and the window looked onto machinery through frosted glass and barely opened. I imagine it would feel very different in one of the lovely rooms on the website, which didn’t resemble ours at all. The hotel is charming and in a beautiful spot, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were just disappointing, and not exciting.

The room was expensive already, so I didn’t appreciate being asked to pay a service charge on the full stay at checkout when I hadn’t ordered room service. The rooms looked more dated than the website photos too, and the air conditioner was noisy. It was only fine.

The bar is cozy and pleasant, and I’d recommend it. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and together they made for a really good hospitality experience. The townhouse is in a lovely part of Chelsea, close to nice restaurants and boutiques. Inside, it’s elegant without feeling too extravagant, a nice fit for a casual stay as a couple or family. One small winter idea: it would be lovely if guests could get something like ginger honey tea or mulled wine at reception when checking in.

The location of 11 Cadogan Gardens was hard to beat, close to restaurants, shops, cafes, and other attractions, yet peaceful and away from the noise below. The property was charming, beautifully decorated, and quite clean. Our room was a nice size, with a comfortable bed and a gorgeous bathtub to relax in. The staff were kind and attentive throughout. We had a lovely stay.
