Arlington House

The garden view gave the apartment a calm, elegant feel, and the place itself was spacious, spotless and nicely furnished with what you need for a comfortable stay. Arlington House Apartments is close to everything, yet the location is quiet and peaceful. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I highly recommend it for comfort, privacy and convenience in the heart of London.

I was disappointed that they wouldn’t provide more soap and shampoo after we ran out. We’d paid good money for the location, and I felt extra supplies should have been included. Aside from that service issue, it was a great, clean studio near most places and the subway. It had a bed, dishwasher, washer and all the kitchen utensils we needed. The lobby was nice and the staff were great.

Our first night in the two-bedroom flat wasn’t very comfortable. It was quite old, hadn’t been renovated and had several issues. The service, though, was excellent: the team handled things kindly and professionally, then upgraded us to a renovated, very modern three-bedroom apartment. That made a big difference to our stay. Special thanks to Elena for being responsive and supportive, and to the hardworking housekeeping staff for their care.

Apartment 5 was cold and uncomfortable because the heating didn’t work. Management brought portable heaters as a temporary fix, but refused my request to move, even though rooms appeared available to book online at the same time. I tried to make the best of it, then the hot water stopped working. I followed up several times with management and maintenance, but it was never fixed. I was even told to leave the water running for an hour to get it hot, which is wasteful and completely unacceptable for a 5-star hotel. The worst part was a discriminatory remark from one manager, Laurent, who told us, “you are Middle Eastern, so you should pay.” It was offensive and showed a lack of respect and professionalism. Laurent and Paulo were rude, unhelpful and dismissive throughout, with no accountability or regard for guests’ comfort, background or dignity. I’ve given this hotel and its management several chances over the years because I visit London frequently and find the Mayfair location convenient. The management continues to disappoint with an unprofessional and disrespectful attitude toward guests. This stay wasted my money and time and ruined what should have been an enjoyable London visit. Unless management changes seriously, I can’t recommend it.
