Best Western London Queens Crystal Palace

I tried to book a weekend visit for Crystal Palace, but found the hotel wasn’t accepting bookings. Security wouldn’t even let me into reception. Outside, there were a lot of men smoking and drinking around delivery bikes. A local approached me and said the hotel had been an immigrant hotel for over a year and that crime had risen in the area.

The hotel isn’t offering dining yet, though there is a bar serving hot drinks. Parking is secure and available onsite, with a charge by the hour or for a 24 hour period. My room was spotless, the bed was comfortable, and everything in the bathroom worked perfectly. It was a pleasant stay and good value for money. I’d stay again.

The staff were lovely, and the quote in the room even gave me the idea to take the photos. But the room itself needs maintenance. Two bulbs were out, and the mattress was awful: very soft, lumpy, with springs poking through and a huge dip in it. The bathroom was clean and attractive, though so dimly lit that getting ready and doing my makeup was difficult.

The room was on the small side, but cozy and clean, and we had no problems during our four-night stay. The shower pressure wasn't great, though it was enough to shower. The receptionists we dealt with were really friendly. We didn't try the bar or restaurant. It was a pleasant stay, and we'd probably come back if we're in the area.
