Chamberlain Hotel

The staff were friendly and helpful at both reception and breakfast. The beds were comfortable, though the bathroom was really only big enough for one person at a time. We had a first-floor room, so don’t expect a view unless you book a terrace room. It was fine for an overnight stay. Breakfast was disappointing: the cooked food was tepid at best, and the coffee wasn’t great.

We had a beautiful night’s sleep on the excellent bed, and the staff were wonderful and helpful. The Chamberlain Hotel has a lovely atmosphere and a lot of charm, and its location and bedding promise a great experience. The room didn’t quite match the more luxurious impression from the website. We could hear people talking and walking past because the walls are thin. The door frame was poorly fitted, letting hallway light in and adding to the noise. The bathroom had little soundproofing, which seriously affected privacy. It was generally clean, but the walls and wooden furniture needed a more thorough dusting. We were also disappointed that we got a shower when our booking confirmation and the website said we’d have a bathtub. Fixing these maintenance and quality issues would bring the stay closer to what the website suggests.

The location is superb, right by Aldgate and Tower Hill tube stations, and we could store our luggage for free. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. Our clean room had air conditioning, a fridge, and enough power plugs. The beds were soft and very comfortable, though a little high. Absolutely loved this hotel and couldn’t recommend it more.

A quiet spot close to amenities. The rooms are small but adequate. The shower was good, though the toiletries could’ve been better. The bed wasn’t the most comfortable, and breakfast was average.
