City Sleeper at Royal National

William made a real difference to my stay. He was friendly, professional, and always ready to help with questions or requests, and made me feel welcome from the start. I had a wonderful stay and can highly recommend the hotel. My room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, the atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming, the location was convenient, and the facilities met all expectations. Thanks for a great experience, I’d definitely come back!

Getting around was convenient, with Russel Square and Euston tube stations close by and lots of major neighborhoods and attractions within walking distance. Breakfast was delicious, and the service was awesome. The rooms are quite small, though they make good use of the space. My husband and I could just about share it comfortably. With a lot of luggage, it might feel squishy.

I left feeling confused and upset about how the service was handled at the end of our stay. The night before my early flight, I booked a taxi through the hotel and was told to be on time. The fare was 75 pounds. After checking out, we waited, but the taxi didn’t arrive. I spoke to the hotel concierge, who gave no information and just told me to wait. After 15 minutes, I asked again, getting increasingly frustrated by the lack of communication. I had to ask whether anyone knew where the taxi was. They only said it was on its way, so I asked what was causing the delay. They then said a road was closed. They gave me so little information that I couldn’t tell whether I should look for another way to get to the airport. After 20 minutes, I asked whether there’d be compensation or a lower fare for the delay, and whether there was a booking confirmation I could keep, especially in case I missed my flight. They said they weren’t sure. The taxi service felt very unserious and dodgy, with no service guarantee from either the hotel or the taxi company. The driver eventually arrived about 35 or 40 minutes late. From the driver’s WhatsApp, I read that he’d been told to give us 5 pounds off as compensation. His phone wouldn’t take our payment card for some reason, so we had to run inside to find an ATM. That added to our frustration as we were already so late. I won’t be returning because I can’t trust their services or how they handle things.

Breakfast was the highlight of my three nights at the City Sleeper at Royal National Hotel. Each morning had enough choice for everyone, from a filling hot meal to lighter bites, and the quality made for a great start to the day. My stay in London was excellent from beginning to end. I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting.
