The location was fantastic, with lots to see and do nearby. We took a local stroll in the evening, walked to the Tower of London, which was very close, and crossed Tower Bridge. Our room was amazing, with a huge bed, lovely bath and rainfall shower, free amenities, plenty of drinks in the fridge, a comfy gown and slippers, and beautiful decor. The only thing we would have liked was access to the balcony, though our winter visit made it understandable if that area was closed. Reception greeted us warmly at Clayton Hotel in London, then told us we'd been chosen as guest of the day. We got a room upgrade, a free drink, and a food discount, which delighted us since it was my partner's birthday and we hadn't told the hotel. Check-out was easy, and staff were always happy to help. We couldn't recommend the stay more.

A quiet room at night made for good sleep, and it was cleaned excellently. The bed was comfortable and the shower was spacious and beautiful. The hotel is right beside Aldgate East train and Underground station, so getting to the major attractions was easy. There was a lovely breakfast selection, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. A lovely hotel in an ideal London spot.

Raj noticed straight away that I'd added breakfast during online check-in even though it was already included, so he arranged a refund, which I've received now. We arrived at 11:30, well before the 3 pm check-in, but our room was available and they let us in early. We also got a complimentary upgrade because one was available, a nice touch for Valentine's Day. The room was clean and nicely decorated, and I liked the floor lights for a nighttime trip to the toilet. Breakfast had a great choice, and although it was busy, the staff were very good and kept the food topped up. A great stay from start to finish.

The location was excellent, just 20-30 seconds from the Underground. The room was a good size for two, with a spacious bathroom, and reception, bar, and breakfast service were all very good. It was generally clean, though the carpet and chairs had some dust. The black toilet seat made it hard to see whether it was clean, but there was no evidence it wasn't. There was no toilet brush either. We stayed over Christmas and New Year's and left very satisfied. We'd choose it again if we came back.

We got early check-in at no extra cost and a late checkout at noon, which made things much easier. The rooms were really comfortable and worked well for our group. The hotel is right by a tube station, and Spitalfields and Shoreditch are walkable. The price was great for what you get. Couldn't fault it, and we'd definitely stay again and recommend it.
