Crowne Plaza London Heathrow

The room at the Crowne Plaza was large, with two double beds, and the facilities were clean. The extra amenities were nice, and we were given the room plus free dinner and breakfast for each of us because our flight was cancelled. The airline rebooked us for the following day and kindly provided transfers to and from the airport. I did feel a family might have had more need of the large room. Dinner was a reasonable buffet, but nothing listed nutritional information. I need to be careful about what I eat and rely on vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free food, so I was very disappointed that potatoes were about the only thing I could really have. The desserts looked lovely, but there didn’t seem to be any gluten- or dairy-free options. Breakfast was busy with lots of passengers rebooked onto new flights, and there wasn’t much food. I had a few pastries; my partner found more variety. Drinks were good, and we had okay hot chocolate and tea. Despite the food limitations, the stay was pleasant and very convenient after an unexpected flight cancellation.

Some people have said the hotel is a bit dated, and that may be true, but I think it’s excellent. The room was spacious and clean, the furniture comfortable, and above all, it was very quiet. Some newer places don’t seem to have the soundproofing older buildings can offer. We stayed the night before flying back to the US. Dinner was excellent for this price range, and the food and service were second to none among places at that price. The restaurant and bar staff were friendly and efficient. Parking was ample, with easy access in and out, and the fee was lower than at some nearby hotels. I’d recommend it and plan to stay again next time I’m at Heathrow.

The airline put us here after our flight was delayed. It was handy to be near the airport, though the shuttle there and back cost surprisingly much. Lunch was good and breakfast was great, and the room was clean and very nice. The corridors had a slightly funky smell, and rolling suitcases over the carpet was a pain. An odd choice for an airport hotel, though I suppose carpeting is everywhere around here.

The pool temperature was just right, and the kids had a great time there. We also enjoyed the steam room, hot tub and sauna, and the breakfast had loads of choice and tasted delicious. This was our second visit. We had some issues on the first one, but this time the staff made sure everything went smoothly. The rooms were very clean and finished to a high standard. Thanks to Alvaro for taking such good care of us. We were glad we could have our weekend away again, and had an amazing stay.
