Days Inn London Hyde Park

We spent three nights here during our last week in London, about two weeks ago, and enjoyed both the room and breakfast. We were on the first floor in Paddington, which worked well as a base for getting to other parts of the city. The room was big enough for my wife and me. The hotel is well maintained, service was great, and the minibar had a good selection of beer and liquor. Many thanks to the staff.

It wasn't a bad price for London, and the place was basic but well located. I stayed for a short Christmas break because the YHA Hostel where I usually go was closed. Staff were nice, but the loo fan didn't work, the shower wasn't always hot, and I would've appreciated a washcloth.

The hotel was affordable, well located, and had friendly staff. Breakfast was included, and the room was a decent size with a comfortable bed. I enjoyed the stay, though I probably wouldn't come back. The hotel sits over the underground, so incoming trains could be heard and felt every few minutes. There was a constant draft from the broken window, and the linens were too small to cover me properly. I also found spiders in the bathroom. The bathroom itself was tiny, and the shower door wouldn't close all the way, leaving water across the floor. Seeing linens air drying in the hall outside my door all day was strange.

The lift was a real help, so we didn't have to carry luggage up stairs, and the room worked for two people. Staff were friendly, though I was confused when I asked if breakfast was included and was told no, even though I'd booked a bed and breakfast room. On the last morning, there was a water supply problem, which seemed to be affecting the area generally. We had a good two-night stay. The hotel is very close to Paddington station, with easy links by train, bus, underground, and hop-on hop-off tours. I also found cheaper souvenir shops nearby. I'd come back to Paddington.
