Grange Beauchamp Hotel

Our large room suited us and our teenage daughter well, and the staff were pleasant and helpful. They tidied it each day. The bathroom could use an update, but it was very large by European standards. This small boutique hotel exceeded what we expected. It was simple to take the Elizabeth line from Heathrow, then walk a short way to the hotel. From there, we could walk to many sights, and the area was quiet enough that we slept with the window open. Breakfast cost extra. We tried it once, then found it better value and more fun to walk to one of the many cafes nearby.

The room was large and the location was the one thing the hotel had going for it. The service was alright at best, and I can’t see how this place could be rated four stars. The facilities were old and disgusting, with little flies in the room, mould, and peeling paint and wallpaper. They first tried to put us in the BASEMENT, a room that felt like a prison. Then they moved us to another room that could only be opened with a physical key, not the usual key card. Our party of three was given just one key, which made figuring out who should keep it difficult. There’s not much else to offer.

The staff were friendly and attentive, and my deluxe double on the first floor was spotless and incredibly spacious compared with most London hotels I’ve stayed in. The location is perfect if you’re coming into Euston for an overnight theatre trip. I skipped breakfast because I already wanted to visit Cafe Tropea in Russell Square Park, just a very short walk away, and it made a perfect start to the next day. I’ll absolutely be back soon. Highly recommend!

The area felt safe and residential, with few tourists around. Being beside the British museum and only a short walk from the subway was a real plus. The hotel itself seemed older and in need of upkeep. During our three nights, we waited a long time for bottled water, and the restaurant had very little seating. The room's a/c was set to heat with no way to switch it back, so we slept with the window open. There were hardly any plugs, no coffee maker, and the downstairs coffee spot didn't open until later, so we had to go to Starbucks. There was only a kettle and tea bags in the room.
