Getting around was manageable for us, even though Covent Garden and Soho are about an hour away. Royal Albert DLR station is a six-minute walk, and you can change at Custom House to the Elizabeth line for Tottenham Court Road and Oxford Street. We were two adults and a child in a Queen Family Room for four nights. The double bed and sofa bed left us with plenty of room, and cleaning was excellent, with beds made and towels changed daily. The bathroom had a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. There was also a kettle, cups, tea and coffee replenished each day, plus an iron and ironing board. Breakfast had lots of choice, though I wouldn't say it suited Turkish tastes. The tea and coffee selection was good, and the breakfast room waiters were polite and friendly. For us, it was good value.

The hotel is handy for the train station, and we really enjoyed staying here. Our room was clean and had a lovely view out the window. The freshly made waffles at breakfast were a favourite, though there wasn't much choice for an English breakfast.

Peter, the maintenance manager, was so down to earth and easy to chat with. My daughter thought he was lovely, especially when he remembered us the next morning and asked about her concert. She was buzzing, and took his waffle suggestion at breakfast. They were 10/10. We were happily surprised by the hotel, which exceeded what I expected. The staff were friendly, polite, professional and ready to help. Great value for a London stay. We'll definitely be back, and I'd absolutely recommend it.

Breakfast was one of the best parts, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We also appreciated the daily housekeeping: the bed was made and both towels and bath mat were changed each day. We stayed on the second floor and couldn't hear planes, despite being close to London City Airport. Our Queen Family Room had a double bed and sofa bed. It was fine for three, but both the bedroom and bathroom felt compact, smaller than we'd expected. The shower has only a half glass screen, so water ends up across the bathroom floor. The amenities were okay, with a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, though the body wash was running low and didn't seem to be topped up during our stay. There was a kettle, cups, tea and coffee, and an iron and ironing board. Plenty of toilet paper was provided, which we appreciated. The location needs a little planning. The hotel is near the DLR, but there are frequent weekend closures. Royal Albert and Prince Regent can also be shut at times, leaving limited transport options. Decent stay overall, but keep room size and service disruptions in mind when booking.

BA put me here after my flight was cancelled. The staff were kind and friendly, and the food was good. My room was a standard en suite, with a comfortable bed and more space than you'd usually expect in London. The only real inconvenience was that there isn't much around the hotel. I had to ride the DLR all the way to Beckton, the last stop, to buy contact lens solution. It's not the hotel's fault, and the DLR is only a few hundred metres away, but it could be a nuisance if you forget something or have to stay unexpectedly longer.
