We spent a week at Holiday Inn North Acton, from 31.12 to 07.01, for £850 for two people. Its strongest point is transport: North Acton Underground station is very close, in Zone 2, so central London is quick and easy to reach. There's also a Tesco just across the street for drinks and snacks. A special thanks to Mr. Baris for kindly lending us his personal charging cable for a day. We really appreciated it. The heating and ventilation system warmed the room properly, unlike other hotel rooms we've stayed in, and was easy to control. Breakfast came with the price, which was a nice extra, though the vegetarian choices were just about sufficient and could use more variety. The room itself was quite outdated, very dusty, and smelled strongly of cleaning chemicals. There were visible signs of mold in the bathroom that need attention. The hair dryer broke on our last day, and no replacement was available. We were told repairs would take a full day, which didn't help us then. The hotel is acceptable mainly for its location and connections, but the room condition, cleanliness, and maintenance need significant improvement to justify the price.

The breakfast was excellent, with a full English, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cereals, croissants, cakes, juice, yogurt, and what you need to start the day. On the morning we left, the receptionist was happy to serve us some at 5am. The hotel door stays closed to keep people from entering and using the premises, so you need your own hotel key to get in, which is great. We spent one week here in Oct. 2025 and everything was great. It's next to North Acton tube station, with Costa Coffee and Tesco Express just across the street. The hotel sits in a beautiful oasis among skyscraper buildings. Our room was big enough and cleaned every day. It faced the railway, but with the window shut the noise wasn't a problem. We used the air con to warm the room and it worked excellently. There were two or three food street shops on the corner with a good choice, and the falafel wrap was soo tasty. I'd definitely go back.

We booked through Booking.com after seeing the positive reviews and were looking forward to a London weekend. Berlin Airport was closed for several days because of severe weather, making travel from Germany to the UK objectively impossible for us. We missed the whole trip, including our hotel stay, pre-booked tickets for Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter and Wembley Stadium. We didn't ask for a refund. We specifically asked only to change the dates because circumstances were beyond our control. Booking.com understood and contacted the hotel multiple times to seek a goodwill rebooking solution, showing that flexibility through the booking channel wasn't categorically impossible. The hotel refused each request. What upset us most was how this was handled, rather than the existence of terms and conditions. During escalation, different IHG representatives gave inconsistent reasons. Some blamed “Booking.com policies,” even though Booking.com was actively advocating for a date change. Others cited “non-refundable terms,” but despite repeated requests, no specific contractual clause was supplied to support that position. The shifting explanations and lack of transparency gave us the impression of avoidance rather than clarity. Other companies affected by the same travel disruption handled it professionally and rebooked our tickets without difficulty. After several formal attempts and contradictory responses at every level, we've decided to have the matter legally reviewed. The handling of this case has fundamentally damaged our trust. Based on this experience, we won't consider Holiday Inn Express properties for future stays, in the UK or elsewhere.

We paid £468.55 for a 4-night stay in Oct 2025 at Holiday Inn Express Park Royal By IHG, booked through Agoda. North Acton underground train station was just a 2-minute walk away, with Chicken Land, Domino’s Pizza, Tesco, and Sainsbury all within walking distance. Breakfast was included and good enough to fill us up before going out to see attractions. Reception staff were friendly, WiFi was stable, and housekeeping changed the face and bath towels daily. Our 4th-floor room faced the railway and got quite noisy whenever trains passed. It was sufficiently clean, and the bed was okay, but it was quite squeezy for 3 adults. There wasn't enough floor space to open our luggage. It would be just right for 2 adults without opening the sofa bed. There was no aircon or fan in the room, and we sometimes felt warm even though it was around 11°C outside. The attached toilet and bathroom were clean, with strong water pressure and good drainage.

For London, the price felt fair, and getting around was easy with several buses and the Central line close by. The place was clean, though a bit worn and short on amenities. The bed was really good, so if you're mainly coming back to sleep, it works perfectly.
