Holiday Inn London Brentford Lock

I realised about 50 minutes after breakfast that I'd lost my phone. I'd left it in the room while we checked out, and when I went back up, the cleaning lady was there with it already in an envelope marked with my name and room number. She could easily have kept it, so that honesty deserves a big plus. Before that, she'd seen us carrying bags as we left the room and asked if we were heading out and whether she could clean. We said yes, then put the bags in the car, checked out, and had breakfast. The overnight stay itself was lovely: spotless room, comfortable bed, great shower, and a good all-you-can-eat continental breakfast. I didn't eat much because I had a long drive home.

For a small business group, this was a great choice. The front desk and F&B staff were fantastic, they recognised membership, and the rooms were clean and functional, with lovely views of Brentford Lock in some. The spacious meeting room was set up to my preferences. Best IHG hotel in the area, and highly recommended.

The location was excellent, and reception staff stayed polite and respectful throughout. Breakfast was acceptable, and in general I had a positive stay and would consider returning. But on my departure day, a housekeeper knocked and asked why I was still in the room, saying I should have checked out because she needed to clean it. I said politely that I'd be leaving by then and asked her to be patient. She only repeated that she needed to clean. It made me feel rushed and unwelcome at the end of an otherwise pleasant visit. I understand the pressure to turn rooms around, but being approached that way before the official checkout time wasn't acceptable. 13th to 14th October 2025, first floor.

The venue has a good location and enough room for 300+ wedding guests, but the experience was extremely disappointing. We were given a supplier list, and the fireworks company was the only one worth keeping. The lift was out of order, and when I asked to change rooms because mine smelled strongly of smoke, I was told nothing could be done. I ended up switching with my partner, who was on the fourth floor. We were first told we couldn't go to the venue the night before, then duty managers said we could. It felt like the departments weren't communicating. The agreement said our names and wedding title would be displayed on the mirror, but it was covered with Christmas decorations and no personalisation. They also kept our £500 deposit, even though duty managers confirmed the bar and kitchen were left in good condition. Not the experience you'd hope for as a bride.
