Leonardo Royal Hotel London City

We left our bags with the welcoming reception staff at 9am, checked in at 3pm, and were able to leave the bag until 5pm on our last day before catching the train from the station just 30 seconds away. The breakfast buffet was fantastic, with lots of choice and really high-quality food, and we even got a free coffee to take away. We were there for my partner’s birthday, and it was incredible. The gym had everything you could ask for. We went for dinner, then came back for a swim in the huge pool, followed by the sauna, steam room and hot tub. Our executive room with view was on floor 11 of 12, and the photos are from that room before checkout, when the bed had been made properly. This hotel was absolutely insane, one of the best in London by far. 11/10, we’ll definitely be back!

The facial and massage were lovely, and the staff were friendly and efficient throughout. I went on a Saturday, so the spa was busy but still manageable. The changing room is very small, though. The afternoon cream tea was nice, but the scones might be better if they were homemade. The hotel is attractive, stylish, and has great decor. It’s right by Tower Hill tube station, which is handy. Service was excellent from booking the spa package online through to leaving. I’ll come back when I’m in London again.

The breakfast buffet was incredible, everything tasted fresh and really good. Our room was clean and tidy, with lots of nice touches like the coffee station, drinks, chocolates, and toiletries. The one problem was the faulty heating, which made the room unbearably hot. We had to open the windows, and the constant noise in central London made that less than ideal. We loved our stay and will definitely come back. Thank you!

We had a lovely stay, and I only wish there’d been more communication about the room we were given. It was an accessible room, which meant it was bigger, but I was confused about the allocation and would have appreciated being told beforehand. Then I could have upgraded in advance if I wanted to. I didn’t want to deal with changing rooms after we arrived, especially since my husband hadn’t stayed here before and I wanted the visit to feel easy and pleasant. Before coming, I’d emailed to ask if there might be a room with a view, since I’d been lucky to have one last time. I got a lovely reply saying they’d add a note to the booking and try to accommodate it if possible. We opened the curtains excitedly and found huge air conditioning units instead. That may have been unavoidable, but the litter, vapes, and noise from the units were disappointing.
