Mercure London Hyde Park

After a long day of meetings on my quick business trip, I came back to find a surprise birthday cake in my room. Such a lovely gesture! The service was efficient and warm at the same time, with a personal feel alongside the professionalism. I'd highly recommend it to business travelers in London. Thanks for the hospitality.

The bed was really comfortable, and even the cozy room had decent space. The minibar was included too. I picked this place for a night in London because it's near Paddington station, and at first the room seemed fine. Then I noticed stains in the bathroom that hadn't been cleaned, plus a strange smell that was probably coming from the drain. The blinds didn't work properly, and the walls were so thin I didn't get a deep sleep. Cleaning started around 9am, so the vacuum woke me up.

Breakfast had everything we wanted to get the day started, including coffee, eggs, fruit, and pastries. We had a great five-day holiday and would love to return. The location was ideal, with plenty of sights reachable on foot or by public transport. The reception team gave great service and made check-in and check-out easy. Our standard room was nicely designed, with a comfortable bed, shower, and lots of closet space for clothes and suitcases. The closet door stuck a little, but we could still use it. The room was cleaned daily, and the refilled minibar was a nice treat after a day out.

Breakfast was a real plus, with hot food made to order and cold choices like yogurt, cereal, pastries, toast, and cold meats. The staff were friendly and professional, and I'd definitely come back. Paddington is only a five-minute walk away, which made getting there easy, and I could leave my luggage before or after my train. I was upgraded to a family room / superior, with a dressing gown, slippers, a bigger bed, a free minibar containing coke, juice, milk and water, and a Nespresso machine. The room was stylish and comfortable, and the bathroom had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand wash, moisturiser, and small emergency packs like a shaver kit and vanity pack. I liked the recycling bins, the limited single-use plastic, and the little glass milk bottle for tea or coffee. My basement room did have some noise from the underground humming, doors opening, and cleaners working in nearby rooms.
