The Putney location, room size, price, and what’s included make this hard to fault. For the price, including breakfast is a big plus, and the communication was clear and straightforward. Everything went smoothly from start to finish. I stayed at MK Hotel London for four nights and was genuinely impressed by the value. For a 2-star hotel in London, it punches well above its weight. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, with everything I needed for an easy, no-stress stay. Nothing was overdone, just thoughtfully arranged and done properly. It delivers what you want and need from this kind of stay. I’d happily come back and confidently recommend it.
The check-in screen was broken, there was nobody on site, and the only option was an AI chatbot. It kept giving me a phone number that didn’t work. I spent 30 minutes standing outside in the rain, trying to get into the building. Don’t expect help if something goes wrong. It felt deeply unsafe, and I would not stay here again.
The staff were helpful once we got in touch. The hotel itself was perfectly fine, but I wasn't keen on checking in at a very exposed touchscreen reception. It was also having technical issues when I arrived.
The bus access was the one bright spot. Check-in was all electronic, with nobody at the desk to help, and there were no signs showing where the rooms were, so I had to wander around. The room didn't look like the pictures. The duvet covers looked old and torn, had a yellow tinge, and the pillows were very small. There was dust along the sides of the bed, too. Breakfast was a letdown: when I came down at 8:45, there was no bacon or sauce, just beans, cold meats and bread. For £165 I expected better, and even two stars feels generous.
Peter at reception was a real help, and so friendly during our stay. Getting around was easy too: the bus stop is right outside, with a direct route to Central London from nearby Putney Exchange, while the Underground and National Rail stations are about an eight-minute walk away. Sainsbury's and Waitrose are close for supplies or snacks. We found the MK Hotel in Putney a good-value, practical place to stay. You get what you pay for, and for a budget trip to London, it worked well.
