Nobu Hotel London Portman Square

The location is fantastic, right in central London with lovely downtown spaces nearby. The rooms are lovely, and the food was excellent once it arrived. Sadly, the service made for a very disappointing stay. The bar seemed understaffed. We had to ask several times whether someone would come take our order, and eventually left without ordering more drinks because nobody returned to the table. At night, we came back to find room service cleaning our room at 9pm, so we had to wait for them at the end of the evening. Breakfast had been paid for in advance, but we waited 30 minutes to be seated and another hour for the food. Some items were missing when it finally came. I wouldn't recommend the hotel.

We were welcomed warmly by the doorman, who helped with our bags as soon as we got out of the taxi. Check-in took longer because the front desk agent was new, and he sent us to the wrong tower by mistake. We treated it as part of the adventure, especially since our luggage reached the room before we did. Through the American Express Platinum Hotels program, we got an upgrade and a plate of fresh fruit as a welcome amenity. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, the shower was excellent, and the Grown Alchemist toiletries were top-notch. I already knew the brand. We appreciated the fresh water left by the bedside each evening during turndown. Breakfast was excellent, with a buffet and a hot dish available from the menu. Our waiter, Dipesh Guni, recommended ginger shots and green juice, which my son Alex and I both enjoyed. We also had drinks and exquisite wagyu beef tacos at the lounge bar. It's a safe area for walking day or night, and Marble Arch tube station is a short walk away. Our stay at the Nobu Hotel London Portman Square was comfortable, pleasant, and relaxing. We'd definitely return.

My room was lovely, well kept, and smelled wonderful. The staff were friendly and attentive without hovering, and they quickly helped me fix a last-minute mistake with my restaurant reservation. One small thing: the room doors are heavy and slam loudly if left to close by themselves. A neighbour's door startled me late at night.

I felt looked after from check-in through room service and when asking for local recommendations. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and happy to help, and the service felt seamless. The warm, elegant atmosphere is matched by staff who clearly take pride in their work and keep standards high. It's rare to find a team where everyone is so helpful and professional. I can't recommend Hotel Nobu enough for its welcoming service.
