Nox Hyde Park

MK made a real difference to our stay. She was always smiling, kind and attentive, and made sure we felt at home. The rest of the staff were welcoming too, and we felt comfortable from the moment we arrived. Hyde Park Boutique Hotel is cozy and well placed for exploring London. We had a wonderful time.

Our stay at Hyde Park Boutique Hotel was a mixed one. We were three friends there from Monday to Friday, and the location was excellent: quiet but central, with lots of places easy to reach. Most of the staff were friendly and courteous, and did their best to make our visit pleasant. The manager was the exception. Communication with him was difficult, and he seemed unnecessarily irritated with us. The trouble started at check-in, when the manager clearly said breakfast was included. The next morning we were told it wasn’t. Since we already had food on our plates, we had to pay £12 per person for a very small breakfast. That was disappointing, especially after we’d asked beforehand. Our triple room was clean but cramped for three people and our luggage, and stains on the curtains didn’t help. After checkout, we asked to leave our bags for a few hours before leaving. We were first told it would cost £5 for two suitcases. Following an unpleasant discussion with the manager, we were eventually allowed to store them free of charge.

The beds were good, but I wouldn’t choose this place unless the location or price is what you need. I stayed on the 4th floor, and the small rooms, tiny staircase on the upper floors and lack of a lift made it very hard to carry heavy bags up. There’s no bathroom on the ground floor either. It was cold and rainy, and after getting to my room I couldn’t even have a hot shower. The water only got mildly warm. The TV froze for a few seconds now and then. Breakfast was in a small room with few options, no fruit and no vegan milk.

The staff were so lovely and went out of their way to help with my luggage. My basement single room was small, but perfectly fine for a short stay. It had a mini fridge and kettle, and breakfast had a good selection for everyone. I felt safe and comfortable the whole time. Some reviews seem a bit harsh for rooms that are this affordable. Thanks to the staff!
