For a room near Oxford Street and Marble Arch, it was impressively quiet, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The room was immaculate, and staff had added an extra heater because of the cold February weather. The location is the best thing about the hotel, and I was surprised to find a room so cheaply in the heart of the city. Like many London hotels, the room was a little small. The shower is awkward to get into, as some other reviews say, though that seems typical in old London buildings. Breakfast was okay, with very attentive staff. I’d stay again.

The staff were friendly and polite, and the coffee machine was surprisingly good. The shower cubicle in room 314 was very clean, but so cramped it was hard to open the door and squeeze back out. It was sold as a premium single, yet the room was small, the bed tiny enough that my feet touched the wall, and the carpet was grubby and dated. The only real saving grace was the location. The one lift was out for maintenance at checkout, and I saw people struggling to carry bags down the tight stairs. Breakfast was just okay: the beans were lukewarm, the scrambled eggs much too wet for me, the streaky bacon tough, and the sausages very herby. I wouldn’t return, as I didn’t feel it was value for money.

Kajla, Francesca, and Emily were fantastic and showed strong hotel management experience. They were adaptable, committed, resourceful, respectful, and caring, with excellent communication and listening skills. I’d be glad to return anytime. Best regards.

The staff were amazing, professional, and very helpful, but the hotel itself felt completely run-down. The carpets were dirty, and the old building smelled bad. It needs proper maintenance and a refit. I wouldn’t call it a four-star hotel, more like one star at most.

The room was far too hot because the AC was broken, and the staff seemed completely clueless. They did find me another room, but it was the smallest single room I’ve ever seen. It would have made Harry Potter’s broom closet look big. Even so, I was charged the full rate of 400 pound the next day, with no discount.
