We paid £140 for the night, including the eat-all-you-need breakfast, and I thoroughly recommend it as a base for seeing London. The location is excellent, right across the road from the Victoria and Albert museum. Our room was perfectly comfortable, with a bath, two chairs, a king bed, TV, tea and coffee, and the usual bits. Breakfast had the broadest selection I've seen in a while. There was even a waffle and pancake machine, which I hadn't come across before!

The rooms could do with updating, but otherwise this is a lovely hotel. Breakfast was excellent, with loads to choose from, and having the health club next door was handy. The small pool is great for kids to unwind after a day travelling or visiting museums, and they can swim until 6:30 pm. The location is excellent too, just a short walk from the NHM and about five minutes from Harrods.

We only stayed one night and wished we'd had longer to make use of all the facilities. The room was spacious, clean and very quiet, and even had a spa bath. Breakfast was the best, with lots of options and really tasty cooked food. The staff were consistently polite and helpful. We'll definitely return. 10/10.

The staff were welcoming and courteous, but it felt like they were serving a substandard product for the price. We stayed here back in 2007 and it seems to have gone downhill. At £265 for an “Executive” room, it was poor value, and we won't be returning or recommending it. The bathroom looked promising, with good decor, fittings, a heated mirror and a walk-in shower with a rainfall head. But the hand shower had almost no pressure, and there was nowhere for toiletries except the floor. The robes only seemed to fit slender people. Ventilation was poor, and the sliding door didn't lock and caught and bruised my finger. It gave the impression that the important details weren't being looked after. The bed was good, but there weren't enough pillows, so I had to improvise head support. The other facilities were fine, though basic, and leaving only two sachets of instant coffee felt stingy. Breakfast was a big disappointment too: rock-hard bacon, badly cooked eggs, tinned rather than fresh fruit and brittle hash browns. The coffee and juice machines served poor-quality drinks. Especially in the heart of South Kensington, the whole thing felt budget and disappointing.

The self-service breakfast had a great selection, and every staff member was friendly and really helpful. I stayed a couple of nights for a January break. The room was on the small side, but comfortable and clean. I'd highly recommend the hotel for a visit to South Kensington.
