The location made it easy to walk to good restaurants and theatre shows, which worked well for a weekend in London. The room was the standout: it was massive, and we got a very welcome upgrade when we arrived. The artsy, quirky design has a lot of personality. The bed sits at an angle, which seemed odd at first but suited the playful feel. The bathroom was comfortable and the shower worked fine. Breakfast was the low point. Mornings in the dining area felt chaotic, and we often waited about 20 minutes just for coffee. It wasn’t awful, but it made the start of the day less relaxing. The hotel isn’t flawless, though it’s stylish and well located for a city break.
We liked The Sanderson London itself. It’s modern and stylish, the room was spacious, and the birthday cake left for my husband was a thoughtful touch. But the minibar fridge was empty and broken, even though we’d bought our own alcohol to enjoy in the room after a lovely lunch out. I told the concierge, but nothing was sorted quickly, so I had to chase it at reception. They suggested we use a fridge there, which seemed odd when we’d have to go up and down to get our drinks. In the end we went out again, and our plans to celebrate in the room were disrupted. They did eventually replace and stock the fridge, but much of the evening was gone. The next day, after we got home, an invoice arrived with a charge for two minibar beers we hadn’t had. The charge was refunded, but it felt disappointing and ironic after the fridge problem. We also hadn’t been kept informed beforehand. We enjoyed the hotel, but those issues took away from our stay and sadly from my husband’s birthday celebration.
Ali at the concierge was calmly on top of some complicated arrangements during our recent trip, so we could enjoy the weekend without worrying. Abhi and Raj also handled our accommodation and went above and beyond. They, along with Raf at the front desk, were sharp, friendly, and genuinely helpful. It’s a great team at The Sanderson, and the location is great too. This will be our go-to in London from now on. I’d highly recommend it.
The staff made the stay memorable. Everyone, from reception to housekeeping, was warm, professional, and keen to help, and check-in and check-out were both quick and smooth. My room was spotless and modern, and surprisingly quiet given how central the hotel is. The bedding was comfortable, the amenities were thoughtful, and I had a lovely view from the window. The location is hard to beat, with easy Underground access, major sights, and good restaurants within walking distance. I’d recommend it for a business or leisure trip and can’t wait to come back to London.
Abhi was especially kind and helpful, and everyone at the Sanderson London made us feel welcome. The room was lovely and really clean, fresh and tidy throughout. I had a great stay and would definitely come back.
